For Your Information

  • How well does this career match my current interests, values, and skills?
  • Will this career lead to a life-style I want?

General Description

Career Clusters are groupings of occupations based on similar skill sets, interests, abilities, and activities. The clusters contain sub-groupings called Career Pathways. These pathways show you the knowledge and skills required for a particular career field. The pathways can also help you understand the vital connection between the courses you take in high school and particular career fields that interest you. You can explore career clusters based on your interests and then examine a variety of options —postsecondary education, training, or apprenticeship — that will help you succeed in those career fields.

The 16 career clusters are:

Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Architecture and Construction Arts, Audio/Video Technology and Communications Business Management and Administration
Education and Training Finance Government and Public Administration Health Science
Hospitality & Tourism Human Services Information Technology Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security
Manufacturing Marketing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Transportation, Distribution and Logistics

Note:
The 16 Career Clusters were developed by the U.S. Department of Education. Your school/state may use a different set of career clusters. Contact your career counselor to find out more information.
